About CIRCLE

 

Centre for Innovation, Research and Competence in the Learning Economy (CIRCLE) is a multidiscplinary research centre spanning several faculties at Lund University and Blekinge Institute of Technology. The founding fathers of CIRCLE include Lund Institute of Technology, Administrative, Economic and Social Sciences, Department of Business Administration, and Research Center for Urban Management and Regional Development.

CIRCLE has well established connections with some of the most renowned research environments in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship and economic growth. For further development of CIRCLE’s international contacts, guest researchers and visiting scholars are invited to enhance the already exciting international research and teaching milieu through presentations and seminars.

The research at CIRCLE focuses under four main research areas (see action plan for more elaborate information)

  • Learning in systems of innovation and the effects of R&D and innovation on growth
  • Studies of regional innovation systems
  • The entrepreneurial university and research-based ventures
  • Public policies in the field of innovation
