Elena is a PhD candidate at CIRCLE and the Department of Social and Economic Geography. She has a MS in Society, Science and Technology at Lund University and MA in Communication and Information at Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania. After the graduation at Lund University she was working as a research assistant at CIRCLE for the projects “Organisational Change for Innovation and Institutional Entrepreneurship in Health-Care Systems“ and “Constructing Regional Advantage: Towards State-of-the-Art Regional Innovation System Policies in Europe?“. Her research interest lies in the area of economic geography, innovation systems and institutional change.
At the moment she is studying different sectors in the Southern region of Sweden (Skåne), concerning the impact of institutions on innovation performance of firms and public sector actors such as research centres.
The PhD-position is funded by VINNOVA, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems.
