An online workshop organised by the CIRCLE research theme on Geography of Innovation and Structural Transformation.

The format of the workshop is informal and your input to the discussion is highly appreciated. Two sub-themes will be presented as inspiration for the discussion, and you get a chance to ask questions after each presentation. The workshop aims to identify potential research avenues. The presentations by Kevin Morgan and Mikhail Martynovich both end with a 10 minute slot for questions.

13:00 - 13.05: Introduction

13:05 - 13.35: "Foundational economy and innovation" – Kevin Morgan

13.35 - 14.05: "Foundational economy and regional development: In search of research agenda" – Mikhail Martynovich

14.05 - 14.15: Break

14.15 - 14.35: Break-out groups: Research questions at the intersection between "foundational economy and innovation".

14:35 - 15:00: Summary and closure

The workshop is open to all CIRCLE members as well as to others interested in the topic. Non CIRCLE members can contact Markus Grillitsch for registration, subject to available capacity.
