Refashion & Reflect: Sustainable Fashion at X-Lab
Come together at X-Lab makerspace for a discussion and action around sustainable fashion. Explore the issues, hear about innovative solutions being developed right here at Lund University — then take part in a clothes swap! Bring up to 5 items you no longer wear and leave with something new-to-you.
Research, Innovation & a Clothes Swap
The fashion industry has a sustainability problem — and we all know it. But knowing isn't enough. At this event, we're bringing together the people who are actually doing something about it.
Join us for an afternoon that combines leading research from Lund University with real-world solutions from student startups on the front lines of change, and a hands-on clothes swap that puts sustainable consumption into practice — right then and there.
Hear from researchers at the Department of Design Sciences and the School of Economics and Management on what the science and economics of sustainable fashion actually tell us. Then hear from LU Innovation's student entrepreneurs who are building practical solutions to the industry's biggest challenges. And if you've got clothes gathering dust at home, bring them along — you might leave with something you'll actually wear.
Light refreshments will be served. See you at X Lab!

Organisers
This is a collaboration between the Department of Design Sciences, LU Innovation, and the School of Economics and Management, and we want to hear from anyone across Lund who cares about fashion and sustainability — students, staff, and members of the public alike.
The event is part of Sustainability Week 2026, which runs between 13-18 April. Sustainability Week is an annual event in Lund organised as a joint venture by Lund University and Lund municipality. The week serves as a platform for bringing together ideas, raising public awareness and for inspiring sustainable change.
